History

enerbility software gmbh is a dynamic company that evolved from a pilot project for the development of an Electronic Confirmation Matching System (ECMS). It is an automation tool of over the counter (OTC) trade confirmations that had been transmitted by telefax beforehand.

The initiators of this trade automation have been the industry players VERBUND (Vienna), E.ON (Munich), ATEL (Olten), Statkraft (Düsseldorf) and the Viennese consultancy team4e.com. After some months of development time, a prototype based on the EFET 1.0 standard (European Federation of Energy Traders) was presented to EFET members. For the independent ongoing improvement of the software, as well as for professionalisation of release planning, support and diversification, enerbility software gmbh was set up in spring 2004.

After a six month test phase, ATEL and VERBUND went live in 2004, followed by E.ON and Statkraft at the beginning of 2005.
