ZURICH

On the 29th of March the second enerbility user group meeting took part in Zurich, Switzerland. After a short adress of welcome by the host Carsten Diederich from ATEL (CH) to all members of the group - Thomas Spanier (E.ON Sales & Trading), Dirk Horstrup (Statkraft) and Hannes Stiebitzhofer (enerbility) - and the guest Carsten Albrecht (Vattenfall), the following subjects were discussed:

1. Reviews of the experiences made with enerbility 1.0

enerbility is operative since November 2004 at APT and ATEL, Statkraft and E.ON Sales & Trading joined at the beginning of the year 2005. Carsten Diederich started with a statement concerning the simplification of the back office processes since implementation of enerbility, Dirk Horstrup confirmed this experience. Thomas Spanier reported on still existing reservations inside the IT-departments concerning security of software installations connected to the internet. It was agreed that in future detailed information concerning security issues will be available especially for the responsible people in the IT-departments.

2. Presentation of enerbility 2.0

Hannes Stiebitzhofer reported on the new features and extensions compared to enerbility 1.0. Because of the modular software architecture of enerbility 1.0 the upgrade process is just adding new modules and adapters (i.a. ebXML) to the existing software.

3. From enerbility 1.0 to 2.0 - supporting EFET 3.0

The milestones for the upgrade process were defined. Since the 11th of April the first version of enerbility 2.0 is available. After extensive testing of all crucial processes and extensions, it was agreed on having fully running systems in May. Therefore the next user group meeting will take place at the beginning of June to discuss all issues raised by the upgrade.
