Dr. Markus Hummel MBA

Dr. Hummel graduated from Vienna University of Economics with a business degree (Distinction) after which he accepted a position at Verbundgesellschaft, the biggest Austrian power producer, doing market and competitor analysis.
Dr. Hummel then decided to complement the practical work with a PhD on the deregulation of the European electricity industry.  Then he changed to the financial services industry and became assistant to the board in a futures & options brokerage subsidiary of Bank Austria.

The combination of the energy industry and the finance sector lead to concepts for new business opportunities. At this stage, Dr. Hummel decided to start up his own consulting business, but he wanted to establish an international profile beforehand. He therefore completed his MBA at the University of Oxford.

Markus Hummel then gathered a team of experts to strictly focus its work on the energy sector. The strong IT-aspect of various project first lead to common project work with enerbility, then resulted in full integration into the enerbility team with a directors’ position and an aquired share in the company.
